The Fraunhofer IFF in Germany is an independent research entity in the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and geared toward production engineering. It is a research service provider for and system and technology partner to major industries and SMEs in the manufacturing and service sectors as well as the public sector.
Research at the Fraunhofer IFF is focused on factory planning, operation and automation. Priority is particularly given to new methods and technologies of digital engineering and their extensive use in the development, production and operation of products and manufacturing systems. This serves as the basis for the institute’s development of innovative solutions in its fields of research: smart work systems, resource efficient production and logistics, and convergent infrastructures.
